He Leads Me

Life Lesson 36:
I am learning to live completely surrendered to God. I try to lean into His wisdom daily, which teaches and guides me along life’s journey.

“Teach me to do your will, for you are my God; may your good Spirit lead me on a level ground.”

— Psalm 143:10

Have you ever wondered what God’s will or purpose is for your life? What about your career choice? How to raise godly children? Whom to marry? Friends to choose from? And, the list goes on.

When it comes to how to live life from God’s perspective, believers must ask, seek, and knock (Matthew 7:7-8). What needs do you have? God is your Provider. He is sovereign and He is all-powerful to work in any situation you face today. Scripture tells us to approach the throne of grace with boldness (Hebrews 4:15-16). It is equally essential for us to listen to the counsel of the Holy Spirit.

As a believer, obedience to God should be your number one priority. We can trust the direction of the Holy Spirit. He will never lead us astray (Proverbs 3:5-6). Take time each day to quiet your heart before the Lord so that you can discern divine truth from earthly wisdom. God’s instructions will help you to make wise decisions for your life. The world’s wisdom teaches you to focus on three people: Me, Myself, and I. A selfish and arrogant approach to life only leads to pride, emptiness, and vanity. But when we give our hearts entirely to our Creator, God, in His infinite wisdom, will lead and guide us in the right direction. Let the Word of God be your counsel in every decision you make, for it it written, “ Your Word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path” (Psalm 119:105). The Bible is God’s instructional manual for life, reading and obeying it will be the best investment you will ever make because it will transform your heart and your life.

Remember when the Lord rescued the Israelites from the Egyptians and told Moses to stretch his hand over the red sea and part it (Exodus 14:21-22)? In the same way, He can save you and me from any dilemma when we put our trust in Him. The Lord’s will is perfect. He knows the beginning, middle, and end of your story. Nothing that happens in your life is a surprise to God. He promises that everything that happens to you will work out for your good and His glory (Romans 8:28), so trust Him to teach you to do and live according to the purpose He ordained for you. When you believe and receive Jesus Christ as Lord of your life, He will allow the Holy Spirit to come into your heart and lead you on the perfect path for your life.
