Bold Faith

Life Lesson 35: The closer I walk with Jesus, the more I learn about Him, the more I desire to know Him, and serve Him with boldness.

“This was his eternal plan, which he carried out through Christ Jesus our Lord. Because of Christ and our faith in him, we can now come boldly and confidently into God’s presence.”

Ephesians 3:11-12 (NLT)

In 1 John 5:14, we read, “This is the confidence we have in approaching God: that if we ask anything according to his will, he hears us.” So then, if we know that God hears us, then we can trust that He will answer us according to His will, and of course, His will for us is to share the Gospel message to anyone and everyone who will listen.

Like the apostle Paul, let us be steadfast in the Gospel. In 1 Thessalonians 2:2 (NLT) he writes, You know how badly we had been treated at Philippi just before we came to you and how much we suffered there. Yet our God gave us the courage to declare his Good News to you boldly, in spite of great opposition.” Yes, in spite of great opposition, let us trust God to give us the courage to stand firm no matter what. Paul was emboldened by the Holy Spirit to speak the Gospel. As Christians, we too will encounter strong opposition, and we will face tough times, but we must stand still and live boldly for our faith in Jesus Christ.

What a joy it is to know that we can boldly approach the throne of grace. In fact, Hebrews 4:16 (NLT) encourages us to confidently come before God and it made clear to us what we can expect when we do take that step of faith toward Him: “There we will receive his mercy and we will find grace to help us when we need it most.” The grace of God is found in the presence of God and it is in His presence that we find favor and satisfaction to serve Him wholeheartedly.

Do you need the grace of God to come into your life, into your situation today? Then come, take that step into His presence right now and experience the joy of fellowship with Him and watch how He will give you the courage to be bold for Him. The truth is, it is not always easy to boldly and publicly profess your faith in Christ. You may even be ridiculed for what you believe and you may be looked at as being too dogmatic, but let’s take a cue from the Lord Jesus Himself. Look also at the lives of the apostle Paul, Ruth, David, Joseph, Moses and so many Biblical characters who boldly demonstrated their faith in the Lord Jesus by proclaiming Him as Lord and Savior of their lives.

If you are a believer, ask the Holy Spirit to give you the confidence to live and share your faith today. If you are unresolved about your faith in Jesus, perhaps now would be a good time to take a bold step and declare Him as your Savior. Take courage my friend and confess your sins to Jesus and ask Him to be the Lord of your life. What do you have to lose? This maybe your last opportunity  to say yes to Jesus, and when you do, what a joy it will be to boldly profess your faith in Him!

“There’s a difference between knowing God and knowing about God. When you truly know God, you have energy to serve him, boldness to share him, and contentment in him.” – J.I. Packer
